KRMB called a meeting with the irrigation Secretaries of both Telangana and AP on June 6 in Hyderabad. Before the meeting, the Board finalised agenda which include discussion on telemetry system, sharing Krishna water from Nagarjunasagar and Srisailam reservoirs and sharing power from hydel generation units between the two States. Board’s member secretary A Parmesham said that the implementation of delegation of power in the KRMB would also be discussed in the meeting.

The officials said that Telangana government lodged a strong complaint against AP for its failure in installing the telemetry system at the identified locations across the two regulators. Telangana Irrigation department already submitted a report about the excess drawl of Krishna water last year. The water utilisation by two States in water year 2017-18 will also be discussed in themeeting.
