Congress to go all out to win battle of ballot

Hyderabad: With the State entering into election year from June 2, the Congress is pulling all stops to wrest power in the next elections and planning activities to galvanise the party rank and file.

In this regard, the office bearers of Pradesh Congress Committee will meet on June 1 to discuss the strategies to be adopted for the elections. AICC Data Analytics Department head Praveen Chakravarthi would participate in the meeting and is likely to launch the Shakthi App.

On Thursday, the AICC has appointed MLA T Rammohan Reddy as coordinator of the Data Analytics Department of the State unit. A committee under his leadership would take the Shakthi App to the village level. According to sources, the Congress is planning to release Assembly constituency-level manifestos which would be released in next few months.

A senior leader of the party said that the Congress would concentrate on strengthening itself at the grassroots and would extend the Leader Development Mission in Reserved Constituencies (LDMRC) to non-reserved constituencies.

He said that the party cadre would be familiarised with the Shakthi App and would be trained in using it. The App contains all the electoral information of Telangana and would be helpful to party workers.

On the other hand, few senior leaders of the party have been suggesting the PCC to be more aggressive against the government to trounce the ruling party in the next polls.

As the ruling party has been playing a mind game by announcing and implementing various schemes, keeping the elections in view, the Congress should unleash blitzkrieg against the government to win over the voters, they felt.

Apart from keeping the party flock together, the PCC should strive to expose the failures of the government and should explain people about the negative impact of decisions and policies of the government.

They have been demanding the party high command to appoint the office bearers of PCC immediately and give positions to seniors in the AICC so that they could work for the organisation. Few leaders even wondered what has been stopping the high command from announcing the office bearers of PCC. Delay in announcing the party State executive would badly affect the functioning of the party, they warned.

The seniors should be given responsibilities so that they could work out strategies for the elections. Party cannot depend on one campaign programme or one or two persons, they opined.
