Telangana got 43k new IT jobs in FY18: KTR

Hyderabad: A strong and stable IT policy backed by innovative reforms by the Information Technology (IT) Department has generated direct employment for 43,417 IT professionals in 2017-18, taking the total IT jobs in the State to 4.75 lakh, said K T Rama Rao, Minister for IT, MA&UD, Industries, Mines and NRI Affairs.

“The IT sector has so far provided for indirect employment to about 7.5 lakh people in the State,” said the Minister while releasing Telangana’s Annual Report on IT sector for 2017-18 titled ‘Paving the way for a #digitalTelangana’, here on Friday.

This year, we got two wonderful opportunities to showcase the State’s technology prowess to the whole world during the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) and World Congress on IT (WCIT) impressing the who’s who from the IT and the Start-Up world on what Telangana has to offer.

The Minister added, “As we enter the fifth year of our government, I am optimistic that we will be able to continue our progress unabated and register significant growth.”
