Cop jobs: Govt raises upper age limit

Hyderabad: Following the demands of job aspirants, the State government on Thursday raised the upper age limit by three years for appointments through direct recruitment by Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) to various posts in Police department, Disaster Response & Fire Services department, Prisons & Correctional Services department and Special Protection Force. The notifications for about 18,000 posts of various categories were already issued on May 31.

With the updated age relaxation, for the constable-level posts upper age limit has been increased to 25 years. For the posts of Firemen and Jail Wardens, the age limit is raised to 33 years. 

For the posts of Sub-Inspector-level posts, the age limit is enhanced to 28 for general candidates. For the posts of Station Fire Officer and Deputy Jailor, the applicants' age should not exceed 33 years, and for Assistant Matron posts, the upper age limit is 28.

The government also decided to conduct qualifying language tests during the final written examination for the ranks of Sub-Inspector of civil police or equivalent posts. The language tests consist of Paper-I: English, Paper II: Telugu/Urdu for Sub-Inspector of civil police or equivalent posts.  For SI (Technical) Information Technology & Communication and Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, Finger Print Bureau, the question paper will be in two parts, first part will have 25 per cent of multiple choice questions, and part-2 will have 75 per cent of descriptive questions.

The TSLPRB invited applications only through online mode and suggested to visit www.tslprb.in for more details. The last date for submitting applications for all posts is June 30.
