Banjara Hills will have 17,917 people per sq km by 2041

Hyderabad: The already crowded Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills areas in the state capital will be more crammed for space in near future if one goes by the CTS (Comprehensive Transport Study) report submitted by the well-known consulting firm, LEA Associates.  Nearly 3500 persons will be living additionally in one square kilometer of area in the posh Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills areas in 2041, according to the LEA Associates’ report submitted to the HMDA.

In 2016, the number of persons living in one square kilometer area in Banjara and Jubilee Hills areas was 14,484. However, by 2041 it would increase up to 17,917 people. The same growth would be seen in areas like Mind Space Junction, Mythrivanam, Kukatpally, etc with Kukatpally and Vanasthalipuram mainly dominated by residential spaces. 

In view of ever-increasing population in the state capital, the need for increasing and improving the public transport system by 50 to 70 per cent from the existing situation was stressed. The usage of public transport systems, that is 31 per cent at present, would increase to 50 percent by 2041. The firm stressed on the establishment of urban transport set up with needed funds to meet transportation needs of the state capital, thru PPP mode in projects.
