Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader and former MP V Hanumantha Rao on Friday alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was busy in publicity schemes than ensuring that the promises made to the people of Telangana are implemented, even after four years.

Addressing the media, he said that while neighbouring Andhra Pradesh had been fighting for the implementation of the promises, Telangana Chief Minister and his son were whiling away time by boasting about themselves.

The Chief Minister failed to keep his promises and had been cheating the people with lies, Hanumantha Rao said. The Chief Minister had become arrogant and all parties should fight to defeat him, he added.  He called upon the people to teach a lesson to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the coming elections to Gram Panchayats. The downtrodden should hold meetings against the Chief Minister, he added.

Hanumantha Rao said that the Congress would give priority to the people of weaker sections and he asked the All India Congress Committee (AICC) chief Rahul Gandhi to give importance to BCs in the Congress Working Committee.

The former MP said that he would approach other parties with the permission of the party to organise a public meeting against K Chandrashekar Rao. He predicted that in future a person from downtrodden sections would become the Chief Minister of the State.
