KTR orders suspension against staff issuing manual tokens on ORR

 Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao on Friday directed the officials to suspend employees who were responsible for issuing manual tokens at the 19 toll plazas on Outer Ring Road (ORR). The rules include the private agency entrusted with toll collections has to issue bar-code enabled tokens to motorists at the entry toll plaza and the bar-coded tokens are scanned at the exit toll plazas where toll charges are calculated.

However, a discrepancy regarding the agency issuing manual tokens was brought to the notice of KTR on Twitter by a citizen Amar Reddy who used the ORR facility and shared that old tokens were being issued at TSPA junction.

Responding immediately, the Minister instructed Municipal Administration and Urban Development Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar and HMDA Commissioner T Chiranjeevulu to take action on it and sack responsible ones for causing trouble to commuters.
