MP flags off 2 K Walk for journalists

Khammam: Exercise and walking everyday will keep the body fit, observed the Lok Sabha member Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy here on Sunday. Srinivas Reddy inaugurated the 2K Walk for journalists, organised by Lakaram Walkers Club at Lakaram Tank Bund here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas Reddy appreciated the efforts of Lakaram Walkers club for taking initiative for organising such programmes. He said the club was creating awareness among the people on the importance of walking which would keep the body healthy.

“Journalists lead a busy life in gathering news from all corners of the society. They are the people who can inspire the society. They should make walking as part of their daily routine work which would encourage others to do the same, he said.

Convener of the Lakaram Walkers Club Yaramalla Sudharshan Rao, speaking on the occasion, said the 2K Walk programme was conducted on every third Sunday of the month for various sections of people with an aim to encourage walking for leading a healthy and happy life along with handling over the prizes to the winners. He expressed thanks to the sponsor of the programme Ch Sudharshan.

Srinivas Reddy handed over the prizes to the journalists Lakshmi Prasanna Kumar, Krishna and Venkat who won first, second and third prizes respectively in the 2K Walk. Journalists Venkateshwar Rao, Venkat Rao, Murali Krishna, Ramnarayana, Madhav Rao, Adinarayana and Janardhana Chary were among those who participated in the 2K-Walk along with others.

Founder President Vidala Pullaiah along with representatives of the Lakaram Walkers Club T Venkateshwhar Rao, P Venkateshwarlu, D Hanumanth Rao, N Suresh Kumar, P Srinivas Rao, Nagendra Kumar and Prabhakar attended the programme.
