Accord top priority for safety and punctuality of trains: SCR GM

 Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav advised the officials to focus on maintaining safety and monitoring punctuality in running of trains over the zone while addressing a review meeting on safety and punctuality today at SCR Headquarters in Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad with all Principal Heads of Departments.
 
Divisional Railway Managers of six divisions viz., Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal and Nanded attended through video conferencing.
 
 
Vinod Kumar Yadav said that Punctuality has come into forefront and instructed officials to keep on monitoring the punctuality of trains with ensuring adequate care in safety. He directed officials to defer non safety works to improve safety and punctuality. He reviewed the various monsoon precautions to be followed during ensuing monsoon season.
 
The General Manager stressed upon post construction maintenance works of Road under Bridges and Subways which were laid as part of the elimination of Unmanned Level Crossings. He also reviewed about various infrastructural improvement works taking place over the zone. Regarding Cleanliness, he instructed officials to shift towards mechanized cleaning systems wherever possible to attain better results.
 
Vinod Kumar Yadav made a detailed discussion about improvements to be made in Catering arrangements in Stations and Trains. He supplemented that due to recent checks conducted by Commercial & Railway Protection Force (RPF) departments unauthorized hawking was restricted to a considerable extent.
 
SCR Additional General Manager John Thomas and other officials were present in the meeting.
