Singareni Collieries Workers members stage dharna
Kothagudem: Singareni Collieries Workers (SCW) Union staged a dharna at GKOC 7 shaft mine area in Kothagudem on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, SCW leaders D Seshaiah and Vanga Venkat said the dharna was staged seeking solution to their 10 demands.
The union members will lay siege to the head office at Kothagudem on June 25, as the workers are unhappy with the recent announcement of sanctioning 70 per cent arrears.
They demanded payment of the remaining 30 per cent arrears and a share in the company’s profit of Rs 1,200 crores during 2017-18. Alleging that the company is not filling the vacancies in all sectors in SCCL, they demanded the SCCL immediate filling of the vacanices under Karunya Scheme.
They said workers are facing problems as doctor and pharmacy posts in the main hopsitals and requested the management to fill up these posts at the earliest.
Leaders G Veera Swamy, K Rajashekar, T Seshagiri Rao, M Ravi, S Sudhakar, MV Rao, S Veeraiah, Y Ramesh and others participated in the dharna. Later, the leaders submitted a representation to the SCCL officials.
