Hyderabad : A delegation of senior leaders from Telangana met Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday and reportedly urged him to replace N. Uttam Kumar Reddy from the post of TPCC president.

Those who met Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi include TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, MLA D.K. Aruna and others. They reportedly complained of unilateral decisions being taken by Uttam on party affairs. They said Uttam's decision and style of functioning was leading to groupism within the party. They reportedly warned that the Congress would not be able to win even 15 seats if Uttam is continued on the post. They urged Rahul Gandhi to replace Uttam with any other senior leader.

According to sources, the Congress leaders also complained that Uttam was having a secret deal with Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao through his close relative and owner of My Home Constructions Rameshwar Rao. For the same reason, they alleged that the TPCC chief was not taking any serious agitation against the failures of TRS Government.

Rahul Gandhi reportedly assured the Congress delegation that he would soon convene a meeting with State leaders to strengthen the party in the State.

Meanwhile, TPCC Vice-President Dr. Mallu Ravi claimed that no complaint was lodged against Uttam Kumar Reddy before Rahul Gandhi. He said AICC Incharge Secretary R.C. Khuntia was part of the delegation which met Rahul Gandhi and they spoke to him for hardly 2-3 minutes. He said he personally spoke to Khuntia and got confirmation that no one gave any complaint against the TPCC Chief.

Ravi made it clear that the Congress party would contest the next elections under the leadership of Uttam Kumar Reddy in Telangana.
