VH arrested for protest at Bison Polo Grounds in Secunderabad
Hyderabad: Former MP V Hanumantha Rao was arrested on Tuesday for trying to stage a protest demanding the government not to take over the Bison Polo Grounds for construction of Secretariat.
Hanumantha Rao reached the Bison Polo Grounds along with his supporters on Tuesday morning and tried to pitch a tent to launch the protest. The police thwarted his attempts and took him into
custody.
He was taken to Bollaram police station, where the former MP continued the protest. He celebrated the birthday of Congress president Rahul Gandhi at the station by cutting a cake.
Hanumantha Rao alleged that the ruling party has been trying to construct the Secretariat building at Bison Polo Grounds with blind belief in Vaastu. The Polo Grounds has been helping many sportspersons to hone their skills. He warned that if the government tried to take over the ground, he would fight against it till his death.
