Look after elderly people, appeals District Legal Services Authority secretary
Warangal: All the members in the society need to display concern towards the elderly people, appealed District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) secretary P Annie Rose Christian.
The DLSA secretary asked the public to take time and address the needs of elderly, especially those left in old age homes where they live a solitary life. She visited Mother Teresa Old Age Home at Kashibugga in Warangal on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, she said one should not leave their parents at old age homes at their fag end of life but should take proper care of them.
The parents spend all their life time in raising their children and it becomes the duty of children to look after them when grow old. Christian interacted with the elderly persons at the Home and assured them all possible support from the DLSA.
There were many provisions in the NALSA Act to offer help to the elderly, physically and mentally challenged people, she said and distributed biscuits to inmates at the home. The old age home organiser sister Rose Theresa and others were present.
