Speed up Sita Rama project works
Bhadrachalam: State Roads and Buildings Minister Tummalla Nageswara Rao on Thursday asked all departments’ officials to work in coordination to complete Sita Rama Lift Irrigation project in time.
A review meeting was held at Integrated Tribal Development Office with Forest, Revenue, Irrigation and concern departments’ officials at the Meeting Hall. Addressing the meeting, Minister Tummala asked all department heads not to delay the works of Sitha Rama Irrigation project which is being constructed in the Bhadradri- Kothagudem district.
The minister said the government is giving much importance to the constructions of irrigation projects in the State. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is focusing on the agriculture sector and giving the more funds for the welfare of the farmers, the minister added.
Nageswara Rao said the construction of the Sita Rama irrigation project is continueing in eight phases, and the stage one will be completed in the month of March 2019 as per the schedule.
He asked officials to comlete the project within the schedule. He also warned against any negligence on their part as the Sita Rama Lift Irrigation project is one of the most prestigious projects of the government. He said when the stage one is completed,automatically the remaining seven stages would be completed with the coordination of every department.
The Central government is also giving the clearance for the construction of the project, so if any clearance from any department is to be obtained, discuss and submit the papers for the clearances, the Minster said. After the Project is completed the seven lakh acres will be irrigated in both districts, he said.
He also reviewed the Mission Kakatiya works in the districts. Out of 39 tanks in the district sanctioned under repair, renovation and restoration of water bodies by the Central Government , 21 were being developed, officials informed. Minister Thummala asked officials to expedited the tank works and complete the pending job.
After the meeting, the minister inspected the new bridge works which is being constructed at the cost of Rs. 90 crore sacross the river Godavari. He examined the construction works and planning on the maps. On the occasion, the minister said that the bridge works would be completed by the upcoming Sri Rama Navami festival. He also suggested the Engineering Department of National Hiway to speed up the works and complete them before the festival of Lord Rama. National Highway Executive Engineer Padmanab Rao, Deputy Executive Engineer Sailaja were present on the occasion.
District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, Joint Collector M.RamKishan, Project Officer Pamela Sathpathy, Irrigation Chief Engineer Sudhakar, Superindent Engineer Nageswara Rao and other officers partipated in the meeting.
