TS Govt committed to welfare of people: Minister

Khammam: State government introduced a number of welfare schemes with an aim to bring happiness into the lives of farmers, said Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao here on Friday.

Speaking at a meeting, after inaugurating the newly constructed MLA camp office here in Wyra constituency, the Minister said the State government had taken initiative for the construction of MLA Camp office-cum-residence in every constituency of the State to enable the people to have better access to their elected legislators.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao with a firm determination took the decision to construct MLA camp offices-cum-residence, he said. The TRS government was giving priority for the welfare of the people by introducing a number of schemes unlike any other government in the country.  

Many welfare schemes were rolled out for the sake of farming sector such as supplying of 24-hour power, distribution of fertilisers and seeds along with waiving of farm loans of Rs.17,000 crores, he added.

The government would soon provide drinking water under Mission Bhagiratha. The government would also provide Godavari water for irrigation through Sitarama project by Dasara, the Minister said.

Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadipalli Kavitha, Wyra MLA Banothu Madan Lal, Khammam MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar, SC Corporation Chairman Pidamarthi Ravi, Chairman of the State Industrial Development Corporation Budan Baig, DCCB Chairman Muvva Vijay Babu, FCC District President Nallamala Venkateshwar Rao, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Marapaka Nagesh and Rural Development Officer Purnachandra were present at the programme.
