Harish Rao questions TDP’s commitment to Telangana

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao laid the foundation stone for the construction of Kalikota Suramma cheruvu and Nagaram tank in Kalikota village of Kathalapur mandal in Jagitial district on Friday. 

The project worth Rs 204 crore was taken up to lift water to Kathalapur and Medipalli mandals for providing irrigation to 43,000 acres.

Speaking at the occasion, he said that the project was taken up in the wake of less water Thummadi Hatti further asserting that they will provide irrigation sources to the farmers of the Telangana.

Faulting the Telangana TDP leaders for maintaining silence when their national party president was opposing the projects in Telangana, Harish Rao challenged them to resign from the party if they were concerned about the Telangana people.

The Minister stated that the TRS government had secured all clearances for the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project but Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is writing letters to the Union government to stop the project.

He questioned the TDP leaders in the state on their commitment to Telangana further alleging TDP and Congress of obstructing the construction of irrigation projects across the river Godavari in Telangana.
