KTR mocks Congress poll preparedness
Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister K T Rama Rao on Monday took a jibe at the Congress leaders for stating that they were ready for the elections. Rama Rao said that it was just a show off by the main Opposition party and added that the Congress leaders had made the statement before every bye-election in the State and have lost in all those elections.
The Minister was speaking to a gathering of leaders of Rice Millers Association in Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) at Telangana Bhavan. Rama Rao took a jibe at Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, who said that the Congress was ready for early elections.
“The Congress president says that they are ready for elections, but this is just a show off. They say this before every other bye-election in the State and they have lost all those elections,” said Rama Rao. “We know what will happen in early elections, even people and also the Congress knows. If people bless us we will work and if the people do not want us we are ready for anything,” he said.
The Minister lashed out at the Congress for its allegation of family rule by the TRS. He said, “The Congress has been ruled by a family, right from Jawaharlal Nehru to Rahul Gandhi. Uttam’s wife gets ticket and they talk of family rule... they have no right to question the TRS on family rule. Mahatma Gandhi wanted Congress to be closed after Independence but still it is continuing,” he said. He alleged that the Congress is known for corruption. The party had not left anything right from skies, land and space, they have hundreds of scams during their tenure, he alleged.
The Minister further said that Telangana was food bowl of the country surpassing Andhra Pradesh. “Earlier Andhra Pradesh used to be ‘Annapurna’ but now Telangana is the food bowl of the country. If the projects like Kaleshwaram, Palamur Rangareddy, Sitarama get completed 1.25 crore land will be irrigated and the production will go up,” Rama Rao said.
He criticised the Congress leaders for stating Mission Kakatiya as commission Kakatiya. He said that the Congress talking on corruption is like devils chanting bible. The Minister assured to solve the issues of the Rice Millers within ten days. Nizamabad MP K Kavitha said that the TRS would win over 100 seats in the next elections. She said that Nizamabad would be the most benefitted district with the rejuvenation of SRSP project.
