Solve our problems, shepherds demand

Karimnagar: Telangana State Gorrelu, Mekala Pempakamdarula Sangham district president Kalva Narsaiah Yadav on Monday demanded that the government must solve the shepherds’ problems.

The Sangham members took out a rally from Kaman to the Collectorate here and staged a dharna. Later they submitted a memorandum to District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed, urging him to take the issue to the notice of the government.

Speaking on the occasion, K Narsaiah Yadav stated that many shepherds across the State are still facing lot of problems as the several welfare schemes being introduced by the State government for the betterment of shepherd community are not reaching the real beneficiaries. 

He demanded the government allotment of five to 20 acres in each village for rearing sheep by regularising GO No. 559 that was issued in the past, along with sanctioning Rs 10 lakhs for youth with 80 per cent subsidy for rearing sheep with modern techniques.

Narsaiah Yadav also demanded the government sanctioning of Rs 3,000 pension for the shepherds, who crossed 50 years and to provide corporate medical services along with granting an exgratia of Rs 6 lakhs to the shepherd families, who dies in accident.

The Sangham members M Ravinder, G Ravi, K Ailaiah, K Buchanna, S Rajamallaiah, K Mallesham, Gali Ravi, B Kumar, B Anjanna, D Rajaiah, S Ravinder, Mallaiah, S Shivaiah, B Kanakaiah, Gattaiah, Ch Komuraiah, D Venkanna and G Parsharamulu were present.
