Congress gets set for high-tech poll vault
Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday called upon the party workers and leaders to strengthen the organisation right from polling booth to State level to defeat the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the next elections.
In a live interaction with the Congress workers on social media platform Facebook, Uttam Kumar Reddy directed them to get themselves enrolled on Shakti App, a special platform designed by Congress president Rahul Gandhi himself to strengthen the organisation at the national level.
He said by registering themselves on Shakti App, it would be easier for both the party leadership and workers to share their videos, pictures and messages. He said the programme would empower individual party workers to give their suggestions directly to Rahul Gandhi, PCC presidents and other top leadership. They could also share their activities with fellow party men, he said.
Uttam Kumar Reddy asked each worker whether he or she registered himself or herself on Shakti App or not. Any Congress worker or leader can enroll himself/herself by simply sending his/her Voter ID Number as SMS to mobile number 7996179961. Within 24 hours, the applicant would get message acknowledging his/her registration.
The TPCC chief said the Shakti App had been specially designed to ensure coordination and networking among all Congress workers. This will also help in giving recognition to leaders and workers who are working hard for the people and party in their respective areas.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said there were indications of early polls in October or November this year. Therefore, all Congress workers should be fully ready to face and win the next elections. He said the workers and leaders should focus on strengthening the organisation at all levels if they wished to defeat the TRS and bring the Congress to power.
During an interaction with media persons earlier, Uttam Kumar Reddy informed that he would soon utilise a modern system - Congress Human Resource Management System (CHARM) - to communicate with all party workers in all 119 Assembly constituencies of Telangana State. The new system has been designed by Madan Mohan, an IT expert, who had recently joined the Congress.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said the system would be like an advanced version of tele-conference. However, this would not be a simple voice call, but it would use artificial intelligence to conduct analysis and give feedback. He said the system would also help in identifying different sections of the society like unemployed youth or farmers. By using this system, the Congress would be able to list out problems at the booth level across Telangana State.
The new system will be implemented in Telangana on pilot basis and the same would be used across the country to connect all Congress workers. A meeting with mandal level presidents has been convened on Friday to use the system for the first time.
