KCR to promote Telangana as global destination in tourism like Singapore
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has come out with an idea to promote Telangana as a global destination in tourism like Singapore in the world.
At a review meeting on strengthening and beautification of Adluri Yellareddy tank with the officials here, the Chief Minister said that "there are many beautiful forests and natural landscapes in India. Singapore a small country in extent attracts the world’s attention in tourism.
It is possible to make Telangana a global destination in tourism as it is composed of thick forests, hills, hillocks, river basins, ponds etc.
The Chief Minister said that Telangana is enthralled with many tourist destination places, natural landscapes, magnificent shrines but during the erstwhile governments they were neglected. “The natural wonders hidden in Telangana did not come to light until Pilagada Satyanarayana came and took the video. The past rulers have not given proper attention to Telangana Shrines or Tourism, " K Chandrashekar Rao said that the tourism will be revived and will make Telangana a global destination for tourism in the future.
He said that his government has already given priority to drinking water, irrigation, agriculture, power and establishing infrastructure in the State. The Chief Minister reiterated that the government will focus on sustaining agriculture and associated occupations, education, medicine and tourism development.
The Chief Minister instructed Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao to take immediate steps to irrigate 2500 acres ayacut under the tank of the Adluri Yellareddy Tank adjoining the Kamareddy road leading to Nizamabad. Principal Secretary to finance K Ramakrishna Rao was asked to release Rs 64 crore immediately. Along with strengthening of the tank bund, water fountains, children’s park, food courts, open air theatre and other beautification works to be undertaken on war foot .
