Uttam will continue as PCC Chief: Jana Reddy
Hyderabad : Congress Legislature Party leader K. Jana Reddy said that the Congress High Command was satisfied with the performance of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy.
Addressing a press conference at CLP office on Friday, Jana Reddy said the Congress High Command might not replace Uttam Kumar Reddy from the post of TPCC President and he would continue till next elections.
Jana Reddy also ridiculed the challenge posed by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for early Assembly elections. He said that the Chief Minister's challenge was ridiculous and he must explain that reasons that incited him to make the challenge. However, he said that the Congress party was ready to face elections anytime. He also claimed that the Congress would come to power in next elections although he could not predict the number of seats party could win.
The Congress leader strongly condemned the house arrest of Alampur MLA A. Sampath Kumar in view of KCR's visit to Gadwal. He said such practices do not exists even in countries under dictatorship. He alleged that Telangana was under 'Police Raj' and TRS Government has completely suppressed democracy.
