One killed, three critically injured after RTC bus rams into tractor on NH 44

One person was killed in a road mishap that took place in the wee hours of Saturday.

The incident occurred near Palem village on National Highway 44 in Wanaparthy when an RTC bus rammed into a tractor moving in the same direction. The tractor they were travelling in was hit from behind by the RTC bus belonging to Allagadda depot.

Seven other passengers travelling in the tractor sustained injuries, four of them critically and were shifted to Mahabubnagar Government Hospital.

The victims were from Palem and Mojarla villages and were transporting leaves for laying pandals at a wedding ceremony which was scheduled on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Venkatesh who succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
