Mission Bhagiratha works: KCR warns contractors against laxity
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Saturday warned that contract agreements entered with the agencies will be cancelled if the works taken up under Mission Bhagiratha are not completed within the stipulated time.
KCR reviewed the progress of the works under the Mission Bhagiratha with the officials here. He expressed displeasure over the delay in the completion of works of OHSR (Over Head Service Resources). The CM made it clear that neither the delay nor the carelessness will be tolerated at any cost. He asked the agencies that pipelines, taps and other material should be moved to the work sites and properly stored.
KCR wanted the agencies to take Kaleshwaram project as a role model and complete the Mission Bhagiratha works on a war footing. In tune with his promise during the Assembly elections that drinking water would be provided to every household, the Chief Minister said that as of now 12000 plus villages are getting water supply and the remaining should get as early as possible.
The laying of pipelines should also be expedited and, if necessary, more number of teams be deployed to work in three shifts, he added. In view of the voltage fluctuations at the substations of Mission Bhagiratha, he instructed officials to deploy additional man power for constant supervision.
The Chief Minister instructed that the Minimum Drawing Down Level (MDDL) should be maintained in all reservoirs of the irrigation projects. It is only after ensuring sufficient water for drinking purposes, water for irrigation should be released and orders are to be issued accordingly.
