2BHK works put on fast-track
Mahbubnagar: Construction of over 200 double-bedroom houses is moving on at a brisk pace in Jadcherla mandal of Mahbubnagar district. The Megha Engineering Construction Private Limited has been entrusted to construct 25 blocks of houses each constituting eight individual double- bedroom in an area of five acres of land.
Speaking to The Hans India, Pavan Kumar, a site engineer, overseeing the construction of double-bedroom houses said, “We are moving a bit slow. In fact, by this time we would have completed the works but due to some land problem, we were lagging behind.
However, now with all problems being resolved, we are about to complete the remaining two blocks. We have increased the pace of works. Major works have been completed. What we are doing now is laying inland drainages and installing water tanks and tap connections. We are expecting the entire works to be completed in the next two months,” said Pavan.
Internal construction of the double-bedroom houses is spacious and perfectly designed to accommodate a family with much ease. Each house has two bedrooms with attached bathrooms. Spacious living room, wash area and adequately spaced kitchen, is obviously a result of great planning of housing for the poor, he said. “Each bedroom is constructed in an area of 60-70 yards with a construction area of 520 square feet.
It is very well-planned and it is really a great self-respect to have double-bedroom houses for the poor,” said Pavan. Giving details about the project cost, Pavan said the entire project cost Rs 12.10 crore. Each double-bedroom house cost Rs. 5.2 lakh.
“The Megha Engineering Works is executing this project for less cost. It is going to be a bit loss, because the construction was taken up on a rugged land and to clear the boulders and building extra basement for the low-lying areas is definitely costing high for the company,” informed the site engineer.
