TSRTC forms think tank to shore up revenue

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has formed an expert committee to study and suggest ways and means for increasing the revenues. 

On Monday, Transport Principal Secretary and in-charge Managing Director RTC Sunil Sharma reviewed various issues related to the Corporation with the Executive Directors, Heads of Departments and recognised union leaders. Sharma asked the Executive Directors to resolve both financial and non-financial matters without waiting for his nod. 

According to RTC officials, it was the first preliminary meeting which would be followed by regular meetings to sort out all issues and demands pertaining to the Corporation. Suggesting the Executive Directors to have meetings with the recognised union and take decisions within their purview, the MD advised quick solutions to all problems and also signed the file pertaining to formation of expert committee. 

Sharma said that the supervisors and employees should work together to get TSRTC back into profits. All the suggestions of unions would also be taken into consideration, he added. Regarding finances, the MD suggested the officials to prepare a time bound action plan to increase revenues and cut down on unnecessary expenditure. 

Sharma further assured to provide 16 per cent Interim Relief (IR) as declared by the cabinet sub-committee to the employees from July onwards. He also assured to solve the issues of workers like payment of salaries for the period of Sakala Janula Samme during the Telangana agitation, loans in time to the workers from the CCS, job security and other issues.
