Nearly 20 TRS MLAs to get pink slips
Hyderabad: At least 15 to 20 MLAs of ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi might get “pink slips” instead of B forms for the next Assembly elections.
A survey, commissioned by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, has found that their performance is far from satisfactory.
Though the Chief Minister assured ticket to all the sitting MLAs in the next elections in the TRS plenary held recently, after describing them as diamonds. He has also promised to take the responsibility for the victory of the weak candidates.
But now he does not seem to think so. Sources in the party said that 15 to 20 MLAs are in the dock and it is unlikely that they would get ticket. A senior party leader said that their performance was not good in the recent survey conducted by Chief Minister. Sources said that the leaders of other parties, who defected to the TRS, would be accommodated in these seats.
According to sources, in some of the constituencies the MLAs are said to be facing public ire for deficiency of service. Sources said that some of the constituencies such as Choppadandi, Mulugu, Mahbubnagar, Chennur, Ramagundam, Illendu, Jangaon, Sangareddy and a few more are under the radar. The TRS leader said that as per the survey, in about 82 constituencies the TRS has 60 per cent vote share and there is 40 per cent for the combined opposition.
During a meeting recently, the Chief Minister had said that the survey details would be disclosed to the media persons in a few days. “Since the survey is in favour of the party, it is proposed to give it to the media. Had the performance of the party not been good, we would not have been making the report public,” said the TRS leader.
The leader also said that except for two or three, party’s position was good in all the Lok Sabha constituencies. Sources said the Chief Minister has been calling the MLAs and informing them about the survey results, telling the laggards to pull up their socks.
