5L relief to Warangal fireworks blast victims kin: Kadiyam Srihari

Warangal: Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari ordered the district administration and Warangal commissionerate police to probe into the fireworks units being run without valid license under GWMC limits.  He directed the officials to submit a detailed report on the fire accident that took place on Wednesday at Keerthi Nagar-NTR Nagar area of Gorrekunta village in Geesukonda mandal of Warangal Rural district, which falls under Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) limits.

He visited the spot to take stock of the situation and expressed condolences to the families of deceased persons. He informed that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressed shock at the incident and announced a compensation of  Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased and free medical treatment to the injured.

Those in critical condition would be shifted to Hyderabad for better medical care, he said adding that the children, who lost their parents in the accident, would be offered free education in Gurukuls. The affected families would be given essential commodities needed for one week.

Rs 10, 000 would be provided towards funeral costs and financial assistance to those whose houses were damaged, Srihari told the press after his interaction with the district officials at the accident spot.
