AITUC to fight for implementation of Minimum Wages Act

Bhongir: AITUC State General Secretary Ujjini Ratnakar Rao here on Thursday accused both the State and Central government of failing to implement Minimum Wages Act for workers.

Attending as a chief guest at the AITUC meeting here, Ratnkar demanded that the government implement GO 68 and GO 43 which were issued to ensure equal pay for equal work for contract and outsourcing workers. He also demanded that the government establish Welfare Board for auto-rickshaw, hamali and construction workers.

The AITUC, he said, had expressed its solidarity to the indefinite strike by the Gram Panchayat workers. He called upon the workers to get ready for a fight against both the State and Central governments to achieve their demands. 

AITUC State Secretary B Venkatesham, CPI district secretary Goda Sriramulu, CPI Deputy Secretary Yanala Damoder Reddy, AITUC district General Secretary Imran, leaders Macchagiri, Shankar, Rana, Baskar, Laxmaiah, Ghouse and others participated.
