Students unions give a call for educational institutions bandh today

Khammam: Several student unions have a given a call for shutdown of educational institutions today to the protest against the government’s dailure to redress their grievances, according to the union.

A meeting is held with the representatives of Student Federation of India (SFI) in this connection under Three Town Committee here in Khammam.
Speaking at the meeting, SFI district unit leader Uma Mahesh alleged that the government had failed to address the problems being faced by the students.

The TRS government had utterly failed in strengthening the government education sector and in providing the basic facilities to the students. In many government schools and college there were no facilities at all. There was no drinking water and there were no toilets.

The government did not supply textbooks and uniforms to certain schools till date, he pointed. He demanded that the government release scholarships and fee reimbursement arrears.He urged the the managements of all educational institutions to observe bandh on July 5. SFI leaders Nagaraju, Lenin and Rajesh were present at the meeting.

Meanwhile, District Youth Federation of India (DYFI) district unit secretary Shaik Basheeruddin along with other representatives Podukanti Rambabu, Kanathala Venkateshwarlu, Pothagani Pulla Rao, Malsur, Venkateshwar Rao and Ashok extended their support for the bandh call given by student unions.
