94 PG candidates crack OUCET-2018

Hyderabad: Results of OUCET-2018, for admissions into PG courses in five universities-Osmania, Telangana, Mahatma Gandhi, Palamuru and Potti Sreeramulu University, were released on Thursday. Around 94 per cent of candidates who appeared for the entrance exam have qualified in the entrance test. 

Out of 70,361 registered candidates, 59,638 candidates wrote the exam while 56,457 candidates qualified eventually.

For the first time, Osmania University conducted the entrance test in CBT (Computer Based Test) mode. The entrance test for admission into different PG courses including M.A, M.Sc, M.Com, M.Ed, MCJ and three five- year integrated courses was held between June 4 and 13.

Releasing the results, OU vice-chancellor Prof. S Ramachandram said that Osmania would conduct all entrance exams in online mode from next year onwards. He said that first phase of counselling for filling 19,000 seats in five varsities and constituent and affiliated colleges would be held from July 7 to July 21. The classes would commence from July 23 onwards, he added.

Prof N. Kishan who had overseen conduct of OUCET said that verification of certificates would be held from July 9 onwards in Osmania and also in four other varsities. He thanked varsity officials and staff of TCS and TS Online for smooth conduct of entrance exam even in districts for the first time.

Subject wise rank cards of individual candidates were made available on www.osmania.ac.in and www.ouadmissions.com. Before coming for certificates verification, candidates were told to download rank card. The admission process will be through web based counselling. 

Ramachandram exuded confidence of a common PG test for all universities in Telangana from next year onwards.  Kakatiya University conducted PG entrance test separately in 2018 like every year.
