Family of Hyderabadi woman trafficked to Saudi seeks Sushma Swaraj's help
A Hyderabad-based woman’s family have approached External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj to rescue her. The family claim that the woman was allegedly human trafficked to Saudi Arabia on the pretence of being offered a job by an agent.
The victim’s sister shared that the former was offered the job of a caretaker in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and she left for Saudi on 1 October 2016. However, she revealed that her sister was employed as a housemaid instead of a caretaker and was even harassed by her employers.
The victim’s sister further informed that the hospital management didn't allow the former for treatment due to lack of adequate documents. Also, she was promised a salary of 1400 Saudi Riyal but is being paid just 1000 SR.
Learning of her difficulties, her family has sought assistance from the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia and Sushma Swaraj to rescue her and bring her back to India.
