Young farmer from Karimnagar creating wonders
Karimnagar: Chasing dreams and standing tall despite facing many obstacles is an achievement by itself and setting a befitting example is K Satyanarayana, a farmer from Kishtampet village of Kalvasrirampuram mandal of Karimnagar district. After completing his education, Satyanarayana took up agriculture as his main occupation and since then had been creating wonders by developing different varieties of hybrid crops.
Sathyanarayan was interested in farming since his childhood but, due to his parents pressure he continued his studies. Immediately after completion of his graduation he started cultivating his four acre land.
He turned his land into a research centre and started producing new varieties of various crops with the help of breeder machine following suggestions and advices from agricultural scientists.
He created different varieties of hybrid seeds which can sustain any kind of environmental condition and paved way for new kind of cultivation by introducing different and new innovative methods in the field of agriculture.
He is also supplying the hybrid seeds that are produced in his field to other farmers who consult him and thus helping them get maximum yield with minimum input.
MS-5, 90-day urgency K6, Venkatadri, Narayani, Easy diet are the new hybrid varieties that were developed by Satyanarayana after conducting several experiments on his four acre land. These seeds can sustain any environment conditions like heavy rains, different soil conditions, insects and many adverse conditions of environment.
He also developed new varieties of seeds called ‘Adhivarahalu’ which grows and gives good yield within 100-days, Mahendri-5 which can be grown with minimum fertilisers, K-6 seeds which can withstand adverse environmental conditions. All his research works are going on under the supervision of scientists belonging to Indian Institute of Rice Research Centre.
Sheshu Madhav, scientist of Rajendranagar Agriculture institute said that they are encouraging farmers who are interested in creating new type of hybrid seeds by giving proper suggestions and advices and helping them in achieving good results along with carrying on field inspection while the process is on.
