HDFC-ERGO opens third branch in Karimnagar
Karimnagar: Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of HDFC-ERGO General Insurance Company Ritesh Kumar here on Wednesday said that the Company is expanding its reach in Tier-II and Tier-III cities through the network of branches across the country.
Inaugurating the third branch of HDFC-ERGO at CVRN Road in Karimnagar, Ritesh Kumar said that HDFC-ERGO General Insurance Company Limited is a joint venture between HDFC Limited and ERGO International AG, a Germany based company that is part of the Munich Re Group. It is India’s third largest non-life insurance provider in the private sector with more than 3,000 members of professionals across the country.
In 2002, HDFC Limited and ERGO International AG formed a general insurance joint venture company, named HDFC-ERGO General Insurance Company Limited with its headquarter in Mumbai. HDFC holds 51 per cent, and ERGO 49 per cent and the firm operates in 91 Indian cities with over 108 branches, he said.
He also said that the company now has 122 branches with a presence spread across 106 cities in India. The company offers complete range of general insurance products ranging from Motor, Health, Travel, Home and Personal Accident in the retail space and customised products like Property, Marine and Liability Insurance in the corporate space.
