Scuffles break out at Congress meet
Bhongir: Scuffles ensued between the supporters of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N Uttam Kumar Reddy and MLC Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy during Nakrekal Assembly constituency review meeting on Monday. Former MLA from Nakrekal Chirumarthi Lingaiah and Congress leaders Prasanna Raj and Kondeti Mallaiah raised slogans against each other at the meeting.
The meeting became a scene of bedlam with the supporters of two factions hollering and screaming at each. It all happened in the presence of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary Salim Ahmed. There were no chairs on the dais.
Earlier, Sali Ahmed called upon the Congress activists to strengthen the party at the grass-roots level to teach a lesson to the TRS. He said the BJP-led government at the Centre and the TRS government in the State had betrayed the people by making false promises. He exhorted the party activists to expose the failures of the State government.
Rajgopal Reddy advised the party leaders and activists to shun group politics and get untied to bring the party to power. DCC president Budida Laxamaiah Goud advised the party activists to follow the directions of AICC President Rahul Gandhi.
TPCC Treasurer Gudur Naryana Reddy, TPCC former president Ponnala Laxmaiah, party leaders Mallu Ravi, former ZP Chairman K Naryana Reddy, party Bhongir Assembly constituency in-charge Kumbam Anil Reddy and others were present at the programme.
