TSRTC workers to get paid for Sakalajanula Samme period

Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transportation Corporation (TSRTC) management had decided to make payments for ‘Sakalajanula Samme’ strike period during Telangana agitation 2011 along with July salary and also implement DA of January from this month and arrears in August salary.

According to recognised union of TSRTC, Telangana Mazdoor Union, the management has given its consent to pay workers who went on Sakalajanula Samme strike during the Telangana agitation in 2011. The workers had gone to strike from September 19 to October 17, 2011. The management had last month sought details of the workers who had participated in the Sakalajanula Samme.

The payments would be made along with the salary of July month. Similarly, the Dearness Allowances from January would also be paid to the staff. The DA of January would be paid along with the salary of July and arrears in the salary of August. 

The workers had demanded for the payment of salaries for the Sakalajanula Samme in the strike notice. The government had agreed to make the payments to the workers and made an agreement with the workers. As per the decision of the cabinet sub-committee, the workers would be given the benefits as promised. The management would release Rs 45 crore to CCS (Cooperative Credit Society) and also Rs 20 crore for payments to retired employees.

The TMU leaders said that the management agreed for providing the interim relief along with the salary of July. The State government had agreed to provide 16 per cent interim relief to the workers as promised in the talks with the cabinet sub-committee.

TMU General Secretary E Ashwathama Reddy said that the management issued circular for giving the payments pertaining to Sakalajanula Samme and the payments for 27 days would be paid in the salary of July month.
