Hanamkonda: The Blue Colts and Patro Cars teams to keep a 24X7 vigil and reach the distressed people instantly wherever they may be in the city. Commissioner of Police V Ravinder, who launched the initiative here on Thursday, said that their utmost motive is to ensure safety and security of the denizens by keeping an eagle eye on criminals.
“The teams, which respond within no time after they receive a complaint, play a vital role in crime prevention, detection, investigation etc.,” he said. This apart, the Blue Colts continue their rapport with the denizens, especially youths to gather information about the activity of the persons, who have past criminal record, the Commissioner said, referring to the visible policing initiatives they were taking.
It may be mentioned here that both Blue Colts and Patro Cars reach the spot of distress relying on the ‘TS COP’ mobile application. A distress call to ‘100’ will be informed to nearest team instantaneously with location and other details.
“Winning people’s trust will be the biggest achievement. Warangal Police Commissionerate has been striving for it,” Ravinder said. Later, the teams took out a rally in the tri-cities of Warangal-Hanamkonda-Kazipet to mark the launch of the initiative.
DCPs B Venkat Reddy (Central Zone), R Venkateshwarlu (East Zone), Additional DCP (L &O and Traffic) D Muralidhar, ACPs G Rajendra Prasad, K Sathyanarayana, R Prabhakar Rao, P Shobhan Kumar, B Sadanandam, G Vidyasagar and V Srinivas were among others present.
