PM Modi’s reply smacks of poll campaign: Congress
Hyderabad: Deputy Floor Leader of Congress in the Legislative Council Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy here on Saturday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech during no-confidence motion smacked of election campaign.
Addressing the media, Sudhakar Reddy said Modi had tried to boast about the achievements of his government. He, however, did not speak about fulfilling the promises made to the nation in the previous elections. The Prime Minister had also ignored the issues being faced by the country.
Sudhakar Reddy said even the Prime Minister did not speak about his own projects like two crore jobs, bullet trains and smart cities. The Swaminathan recommendations on agriculture were ignored.
The MLC said the Prime Minister was feeling insecure as AICC President Rahul Gandhi had put the facts before the nation. Smaller states symbolised development and the Centre should implement all the promises being made in the AP Reorganisation Act.
He said Rahul Gandhi had shown the maturity and he had dwelt on the promises being made to Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh.
He found fault with the BJP for heckling the speech of Rahul in Lok Sabha and Modi had shown his arrogance by not standing up when Rahul went to his seat. The comments of Prime Minister Modi on implementation of APRA Act were irresponsible.
