Rahul Gandhi busted Modi myths, avers Uttam
Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday praised All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Rahul Gandhi for his speech during the ‘no confidence motion’ on Friday. Uttam said that the Congress president had completely exposed the failures of the Modi government during the last four years.
He also praised Rahul Gandhi’s gesture of hugging Prime Minister Narendra Modi despite the fact that Modi and his team had been running a hate campaign against him. It was first of kind moment in the history of Parliament and Rahul Gandhi has shown that all political leaders should be broad-minded to the extent that they must also love their opponents, he added.
Addressing the media, TPCC chief alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his party Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) have exposed their friendship with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by abstaining from voting on the No Confidence Motion in Lok Sabha on Friday.
Reddy said that K Chandrashekar Rao had once again proved his loyalty towards the BJP and Prime Minister Narender Modi by abstaining from voting. He said that the Congress party had been speaking about a secret pact between the BJP and the TRS. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Chief Minister had been a Modi supporter since the beginning. "K Chandrashekar Rao was the first Chief Minister to support demonetisation and GST. The TRS voted for BJP's candidates in the elections for President and Vice-President of India.
He preferred BJP candidates with RSS background over Babu Jagjivan Ram's daughter and Dalit icon Meira Kumar and Mahatma Gandhi's grandson Gopalakrishna Devdas Gandhi," he said. Uttam Kumar Reddy appealed to the Muslims to realise K Chandrashekar Rao’s pro-BJP and pro-RSS policy.
The TPCC chief asked as to why TRS MPs did not raise the issue of 12 per cent Muslim reservation in the Parliament. He said the TRS stand during 'No Confidence Motion' had also exposed MIM which is an ally of TRS. While KCR supports the BJP and Prime Minister Modi, MIM supports K Chandrashekar Rao and the TRS.
Therefore, voting for TRS or MIM will be equal to voting for BJP, he said. TRS MPs did not expose the injustices being done by the BJP's Central government during the debate on No Confidence Motion. Further, he said that the TRS MPs have remained mute when PM Modi strongly criticised the very formation of Telangana itself.
