Talasani Srinivas Yadav helping locals usurp Wakf land: Congress
Hyderabad: Telangana Congress senior leader M Shashidhar Reddy on Saturday alleged that State Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav has been trying to encourage local people to illegally enter into Wakf Board land in Sanathnagar for over two years.
In a press statement, the congress leader said that the Minister urged Czech colony people to enter the plot of land measuring half acre belonging to the wakf board on the pretext of carrying out "Swachh Hyderabad" programme. He intervened and prevented people from entering the Wakf land for several times. Reddy said he wrote to the Colony Federation warning them that any such attempt by them will hurt the sentiments of the Muslims.
The Congress leader alleged that Wakf Board Chairman Mohd Saleem is helping the Minister in encroaching the land. He also raised the issue of giving away the land on lease to the federation on a nominal price against the spirit of Central Wakf Act. Reddy also questioned the Minister for the construction of an illegal arch gate without Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) permission at the junction of Erragadda main road and the common road for entrance to Czech Colony and Sanathnagar.
The main idea is to allow push carts along the line of the gate pillars on the internal road, so that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) henchmen can collect mamools from them.He said though the Corporation instructed the local authorities to demolish the arch no action was taken so far.
