All set for Lashkar Bonalu

Secunderabad: Officials of various departments are speeding up the works of Bonalu festival at Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Temple scheduled on July 29 and 30. Deputy Commissioner of Police (west zone) Sumathi said that 3,000 police personal were going to be deployed at the temple to avoid any untoward incidents.  

The arrangements include installation of CCTV cameras, no permission to DJs, deployment of 25 SHE teams, ban on movement of vehicles on RP road, battery cars for senior citizens, speedy darshan to woman who carries Bonalu, CCTV camera command control room at Mahankali police station, LED screens outside the temple to see festival prayers inside the temple, thorough exercise to arrange three tier securities.

Temple EO Annapurna said that 30 artisans from Pochampalli were in preparation of special saree for the deity. She said that lakhs of devotees may visit the temple during the festival, accordingly officials of various departments, representatives of Temple Committee and NGOs are making arrangements to avoid inconvenience to the devotees. 

The EO revealed that on the occasion of lunar eclipse on July 25, temple will be closed at 4 pm. She appealed the devotees to make arrangements to have darshan of the deity before 4 am on July 27.
