Isolated rains in Telangana

Hyderabad: Light to moderate rains or thundershowers are likely to occur at various places in the State from July 24 to 27.

According to Met department’s bulletin released on Monday, the depression over north-west Jharkhand and neighbourhood moved slightly west-northwestwards and has weakened into a well-marked low pressure area and lies over northwest Jharkhand and its neighbourhood.  The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km and tilting southwards with height which will bring rains. 

According to the bulletin, the southwest monsoon continues to be weak in Telangana for the second consecutive day. Isolated rain occurred in Kamareddy,  Bhupalpally and Nizamabad districts. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) in the State were: Yellareddy (Kamareddy) 4, Kaleswaram (Bhupalpally) 3, Varni and Rudrur (both in Nizamabad) 2 each, Kotgiri (Nizamabad), Chennur (Mancherial), Boath (Adilabad), Jukkal, Pitlam, Nagareddipet and Nizamsagar recorded 1 cm each. 

Meanwhile, Hyderabad, Khammam and Mahbubnagar registered the highest day temperature of 31 degrees Celsius. The other temperatures recorded in the State were: Nalgonda, Medak, Adilabad and Bhadrachalam 30 each, Nizamabad, Ramagundam and Hakimpet 29 each and Hanamkonda 28 degrees Celsius.
