Strengthen party from village-level: TDP

Karimnagar: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) district president Ambati Jojireddy appealed party leaders and activists to strengthen the party from village-level to face the coming up Assembly elections.

A district-level meeting with party leaders and activists was held at a private function hall in Karimnagar on Wednesday. Speaking at the meeting, Jojireddy directed the mandal party presidents to form booth, village, mandal, division, town and city-level committees and appoint constituency in-charges by August 5. He also told them to upload details of the committees on the website.

He appealed them to mobilise more number of party activists to Chalo Mulugu programme, which will be held on July 27 in Mulugu, demanding the Central government establishment of Tribal University as the per the promise made at the time of State bifurcation.

The State government is acting like an agent to the Central government and not exerting pressure on it for fulfilment of the promises made to Telangana State, he added. Due to the anti-people’s policies adopted by the TRS government, all sections of people are staging dharnas and conducting road blockades to vent out their disappointment. The people will teach fitting lesson to the TRS government in the coming up Assembly elections, Jojireddy said.

Party leaders G Venkateshwarlu, K Shivarama Krishna, D Praveen Kumar, M Kishore, T Pulla Chary, K Rajaiah, K Malla Reddy, SK Saleem, S Rajesham, Mumtaz Begum, N Bala Goud, Haigreeva Chary, K Gattaiah, Md Yasuf, Sriramulu, K Sambashiva Reddy, L Ramesh, Bhaskara Chary, G Ram Reddy, Nissar Ahmad, V Srinivas Reddy, K Sripathi Rao and N Vani were present along with others.
