3,000 patta passbooks to be distributed soon

Kothagudem: The district administration will soon start distribution of remaining patta passbooks to farmers, informed District Joint Collector M Ram Kishan on Thursday. 

According to him, as many as 3,000 patta passbooks that could not be distributed under the Rythu Bandhu Scheme for various reasons, would be handed over to the owners of farmlands in few days.

Speaking to The Hans India, the District Joint Collector said that there were wrong entries in these 3,000 passbooks. Now corrections are being carried out by officials after enquiries in respective villages. He also informed that the second phase of Rythu Bandhu scheme will start in the first week of August.  

The Rythu Bandhu scheme was launched by the Chief Minister in the state on May 10 this year to support farmer’s investment for two crops a year. The government is providing 58.33 lakh farmers, Rs. 4,000 per acre per season to support the farm investment, twice a year, for Rabi and Kharif seasons.   

The government had released Rs.4000 input subsidy for the first phase under the scheme to the every farmers per acre in the State. In Kothagudem, the officials identified 1,07,400 farmers in around 23 mandals in the district in the first phase of the scheme. They distributed 83,646 books to farmers in various villages. According to officials, 11,910 pasbooks had wrong entries like names and others.

After that the officers made corrections in 7,000 passbooks and distributed the same to the farmers in the district.  Now, remaining 3,000 passbooks are ready for distribution after corrections. Most of the mistakes were identified in the pass books of three mandals-- Dhammapet 2,034 passbooks, Charla 1,444 pass books and Aswaraopet 1,394 books.

The officials conducted conducted special programs and verified the passbooks and made corrections. District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu and Joint Collector M.RamKishan conducted many meetings to speed up the programme.
