Land acquisition to be completed by Aug 15

Bhongir: District Collector Anitha Ramachandran directed the officials concerned to speed up the land acquisition for canals under minor irrigation schemes in the district.

She, along with Joint Collector G Ravi Naik, conducted a meeting with officials of Irrigation department, Special Deputy Collectors and engineers at the District Collectorate on Thursday and reviewed the status of land acquisition for minor irrigation schemes in the district. 

She directed the officials to approach the farmers for land acquisition and inform them about the compensation amount decided by the committee and if any farmer was refusing to give his land, acquire it as per the 2013 LA Act. She directed the officials to complete the land acquisition process in Bhongir and Bibinagar by August 15 at any cost.

She advised the officials to deposit the compensation amounts in bank accounts of Devadula project oustees within three days as the Financial department had given permission for the payment. She urged the officials to computerise the data of acquired land regularly to know the status online. 

Irrigation department Section Engineer Hameed Khan, RDO Suraj Kumar, Special Deputy Collector Shivaji, Engineers and others participated in the meeting.
