One CC cam equal to 1,000 cops: Superintendent of Police Prakash Jadav

Nagaram (Suryapet): Superintendent of Police Prakash Jadav said plans were afoot to set up CC cameras at all possible places in the district to curb crimes in the district. On Thursday, he launched the surveillance cameras set up at Nagaram mandal under Nenu Saitham programme.

Speaking on this occasion, he asserted that one CCTV camera was equals to 100 police personnel. Footage of CCTVs would help a lot in police investigation to put a check on illegal activities and anti-social elements.

He said as a part of maintaining smooth law and order, so far, as many as 725 CC cameras had been established across the district and plans were afoot to establish more cameras in sensitive villages in the district in the forthcoming days.

He urged the people to come forward and extend their cooperation in setting up CC V cameras under Nenu Saitham programme envisaged by the Police department. Later, he visited local police station and examined the functioning of cameras. 

DSP Nageshwar Rao, CI J Ravinder, SI A Srinivas, ASI Venkanna, police staff Ramesh, Srinu, Prasad and the locals participated in the programme.
