Telangana Govt to extend financial aid for mulberry cultivation

 Karimnagar: The government is providing financial assistance for growing mulberry plants and sericulture farming in the district, informed Finance Minister Eatala Rajender. He attended as a chief guest at an awareness programme about mulberry cultivation and sericulture farming and benefits of drip irrigation, organised for the farmers of 10 districts, here at Singapur village of Huzarabad mandal in Karimnagar on Thursday.

Minister Rajender said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, being a farmer’s son, is striving hard to uplift the farming community present across the State. Telangana is the only State that introduced many welfare schemes like Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima to help the farmers in all aspects and many will be introduced in the coming up days.

Many drastic changes occurred in the field of sericulture and Sammireddy, a farmer of Tummanapalli village of Huzurabad mandal got enormous profits of Rs 10 lakhs by doing sericulture farming with just Rs 3 lakhs of investment.

Many farmers must come forward deriving inspiration from Sammi Reddy and must adopt sericulture farming to get maximum benefits by implementing various advanced methods and by using new techniques. 

The State government is issuing more subsidy for sericulture farming and for mulberry cultivation compared to the subsidy issued by the Central government.

The agricultural profession is providing employment opportunities to crores of people present across the country. In order to achieve Bangaru Telangana, the villages should be developed first. Keeping this in view, the government is working hard to develop rural areas, the Minister said.

Many people in the past opined that farming is waste but KCR’s efforts and his innovative schemes had changed this opinion. After seeing the commitment of the government in developing agricultural sector in the State, youth are also showing interest to take up agriculture as a profession. Eatala said Karimnagar district will be transformed as a seed and rice bowl of Telangana with the funds sanctioned by the State government. 

MLC Naradasu Lakshman Rao, MLAs Bodiga Shoba and Satish Kumar, horticulture director L Venkatram Reddy, sericulture director Madhu Mohan, horticulture deputy director Srinivas, DRDO Venkateshwar Rao, district agricultural officer Sridhar, MPPs and ZPTCs were present.
