‘Tribal girls in traditional attire look gorgeous’

Bommalaramaram (Yadadri-Bhongir): Government Chief Whip Gongidi Sunitha Reddy said that she prayed the tribal God to bless the State to be wealthy and healthy. She was participating at the tribal fetival Teej at Pilligandla thanda of Bommalaramaram mandal in the district on Thursday. 

Speaking on the occasion, she said that tribals were more associated with nature and they prayed to the nature on the occasion of Teej. It looked gorgeous when young tribal girls from the thandas danced rhythmically to the beats of drums, sporting colorful traditional attires and balancing baskets containing sprouts on their heads, she added.

She said it was a noble festival where tribal women prayed for farmers to reap bumper harvest, she said and added that everyone should lead healthy life without affected by seasonal deceases. Girls would get better life partners by pleasing the nature and the God with their songs, she underlined. She listed out various welfare activities being carried out by the State government in the interest of various tribes in the State. 

As a part of the programme, she too took part in the dance along with tribal girls. MPP Tirupathi Reddy, Bhongir Market Committee chairman Sridhar, MPTC Ramaswamy, TRS mandal party president Bala Narsimha, Bal Singh and others participated in the celebrations.
