Collector promises health cards to journalists

Khammam: Special drive will be conducted for about 15 days for issuing of health cards to the accredited journalists for the year 2017-18 as per the guidelines of the State government, said the District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar here on Friday.

The Collector was chairing a meeting with the members of accreditation committee at his chamber here. Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector said as part of the welfare of journalists, the State government is issuing health cards to Journalists. many journalists in the district did not take health cards even after accreditation was granted to them.

The Accreditation Committee members and the representatives of the Journalist Unions should take initiative for enrolling such journalists through online for issuing of health cards.

The journalists after enrolling their names along with their family members through online should contact the District Public Relation Officer by August 8 to get their user id and password for getting health cards, said the Collector.

District Public Relation Officer M Srinivas Rao, District Accreditation Committee members A Adinarayana, A Venkateswara Rao, Syed Ismail, P Ravinder, S Ramaiah, V Santhosh and B Naveen were present at the programme.
