Hanamkonda: ‘True success comes from entering this world from the mother’s womb hale and healthy', Bollywood film director and producer Dr Vivek Agnihotri said.

He spoke at the NIT’s two-week induction programme held here on Thursday, intended to acclimatise and expose the BTech freshers to various facets of campus life and help them to realise their full potential. It may be noted here that NIT has invited him as part of its initiative ‘Talk by eminent people’ to give a pep talk to students.

He gave a clarion call to the students that breathing and creativity are like two peas in a pod and inextricably linked. Recalling examples of his own struggle in life to realise his dream to make India 'a capital of innovation' in the years to come, he inspired the students to tap the latent creative skills in them as every human being is born creative blessed and talented.

Besides academics, Agnihotri advised the students that life would be incomplete and lacklustre without any room for joy, freedom and values. While honouring and doing justice to their Engineering programme, he said that students should realise that their academics should not be the ultimate and only destiny of life but should develop the quest to read, write and explore.

Every individual should contribute to the society with his heart and soul with his inventiveness rather than leading the life mechanically. Materialistic life cannot give a person success, whereas success is exploring beyond the physical facilities and riches, Agnihotri said.

Speaking about the societal values and beliefs he said that Indian mothers should be honoured and acknowledged for their sacrifices and perseverance in nurturing the creative minds the architects of the nation. Later, Prof LRG Reddy, Dean (Students Welfare) felicitated Agnihotri.
