TSTDC packages for tourists to chill out at waterfalls

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation has come up with special weekend packages to places of waterfalls. As the waterfalls attract huge crowds, especially youth, the corporation decided to cash in on the tourist footfall to waterfall sites in the State.  

The officials said that the facilities such as shelter for night stay, restaurants would be brought up at these places apart from providing transportation. According to the officials, off late the tourist influx had increased to the waterfalls at various places in the State. The youth particularly techies, who have five-day week have been thronging these sites during the weekends. It had been decided to increase the facilities at these sites for the benefit of the tourist, said a senior official. 

The official said that there are many waterfall destinations in the State, which were not explored during the undivided Andhra Pradesh. However, after the formation of Telangana State, many such places are coming up. He said that few places with waterfalls are Bheemuni Paadam in Warangal, Sabbitam in Peddapally district, Mallela Theertham in Nagarkurnool, Ratham Gutta in Bhadradri Kothagudem. 

“We have decided to take up beautification at the waterfall areas in the State. Special team had already surveyed on providing various facilities for the tourists at different places and soon the tourists would find special facilities at these sites with several other amenities,” said Tourism Corporation MD B Manohar. Manohar said that the tourists would be offered packages to visit the waterfall locations in the State. To begin with, the Corporation had started providing facilities at Kuntala, Pocherla in Adilabad district and Bogatha in Jayashankar Bhoopalapally district, he said.

Manohar said that the tours would be taken up during the weekend on the demand from citizens. The corporation recently started a special A/c Volvo bus to these two places. The corporation would charge Rs 1,500 per head for A/C service and Rs 1,400 for non A/C service which includes transportation charges, toll fee, parking fee, entry fee etc. The official said that apart from the package tours, the tourists can also opt for the customised tour package.
